What we do with Somfy for you.
Somfy drives blinds, roller shutters, awnings and curtains and controls them wirelessly – one motor per blind, one hub for the house. That is the simplest way to automate existing shading, because no new cable to the switch is needed. We use Somfy when blinds should follow the sun, the awning should retract in wind and the flat should stay cool in summer without anyone thinking about it. The blinds installer or electrician handles drive and fitting; we plan, configure and connect.
Automating existing blinds
Most houses already have electric blinds, just with one switch per window. With Somfy wireless drives or wireless receivers behind the existing switch they become blinds that move centrally: all down when you leave, all by sun in summer, bedroom not before seven in the morning. We check with you which blinds need which drive and coordinate the blinds installer for the motor swap.
Then we set up hub, remote and app, define groups and schedules and set the sun automation so that it does not move with every passing cloud.
Sun, wind and temperature
Shading is the most effective measure against heat in summer and a source of warmth in winter. We plan the automation with sun and wind sensors: blinds come down on the sunny side when radiation rises, stay up when it is overcast, and the awning retracts before the wind damages it. In winter we let the sun in and close in the evening to keep the warmth. We set the thresholds with you and adjust them after the first few weeks, once it becomes clear which facade warms up first.
Somfy in the smart home
Somfy runs as a system of its own or as part of a larger installation. We integrate the drives with Loxone, KNX, Apple Home or Google Home so that shading and lighting respond in one scene: "Cinema" closes the blinds and dims, "Good morning" opens bedroom and kitchen, "Away" simulates presence. Roof windows, curtains and interior blinds can be included too. We support flats and houses in Solothurn, Bern, Aargau and the Mittelland region and remain available after setup when a blind needs to be re-paired.

Can you retrofit my manual blinds with Somfy?
Often, yes. For crank-operated blinds and roller shutters there are retrofit drives that the blinds installer fits. We check on site which blinds are suitable and plan the control. With very old blinds it is sometimes worth replacing the whole blind including the motor.
Does Somfy work with Apple Home or Loxone?
Yes, via the right hub or interface. We set up the connection so that your blinds appear in the same app as lighting and music and take part in scenes. Which hub is needed depends on the Somfy wireless standard of your drives – we clarify that beforehand.
Who fits the Somfy motors?
The motor is fitted by your blinds installer or an electrician, because the blind has to be taken down and the power connected. We coordinate the appointment, plan the automation and take on setup, pairing and the connection to the smart home.
