KEF builds speakers with one special feature: tweeter and midrange sit at a single point, which makes the sound less dependent on where you sit. That helps in the living room, where not everyone is in the one armchair. We use KEF as active stereo speakers with built-in streaming, as a passive chain with amplifier, as a home cinema with centre and subwoofer, and as in-ceiling and in-wall speakers that disappear. You hear the speakers in your room, not in the shop – we bring them along.
A listening session in your room
A speaker sounds different in every room. So we set up KEF models at your home, with your music, in the spot where they will later stand. We compare two or three sizes, active against passive, and you decide by what you hear. Then we fine-tune the placement: distance from the wall, angle, height, listening position. That is not polishing – it is the difference between quite good and goosebumps.
We pair by sound and budget – with Marantz, Denon, NAD or the amplifier you already have.
KEF in the home cinema
For Dolby Atmos cinemas we use KEF as front, centre, surround and ceiling speakers, often combined with a Denon or Marantz receiver. The advantage: all channels sound alike, and effects travel cleanly through the room. We mount in-ceiling and in-wall models flush with grilles in the ceiling colour; visible models we position so that they belong to the living room. After installation we calibrate levels and distances at the seating position and set the subwoofer so that it carries rather than booms.
Invisible and in every room
KEF in-ceiling and in-wall speakers are our choice when music should play in the kitchen, bathroom, hallway or on the terrace without a device in sight. They connect to amplifiers in the utility cupboard, to Sonos Amp or to a multiroom system and are operated via app, wall switch or the smart home control. We plan the positions with your architect or electrician so that the cables are in place before plastering, and coordinate with the other trades during installation. Can I audition KEF speakers at home with you?
Yes, that is our standard approach. We bring one or two models, set them up in your room and listen together with your music. That way you decide by the actual sound at your place and not by a demo room.
Do KEF speakers suit my existing amplifier?
Usually, yes. We check the power and impedance of your amplifier and tell you whether it drives the speakers cleanly or whether a change makes sense. Active KEF models need no amplifier at all, just power and network.
Do you also retrofit KEF in-ceiling speakers?
In suspended ceilings and plasterboard walls, yes, without much effort. With concrete ceilings or plastered masonry it takes cable routes that we clarify with you and your electrician. After a site visit we tell you honestly what is possible.
