Having a website built in Solothurn: how it works
Process, timing, system and Google: what to settle before you hire a web agency, with examples from our projects.

If you are looking for a web agency in Solothurn, you will quickly find several offers that sound alike. The difference usually only shows after launch: can people find the site? Can you maintain it yourself? And who helps when something stops working? Here is how a website project runs and what to settle beforehand.
What should I settle before having a website built?
Three questions are enough to start: who do you want to reach? What should those people do on the site: call, request a quote or order in the shop? And who will look after the content later?
Also look at two or three websites you like and note why. That helps more in the first meeting than a finished concept.
How does a website project run?
- Meeting and concept: goals, content and page structure. You then receive a quote with a fixed scope.
- Design: the pages are designed around your brand and agreed with you.
- Build: programming, copy, images and SEO basics, tested on phone and computer.
- Launch and support: CMS introduction, go-live, then hosting, maintenance and updates if you wish.
How long does it take to have a website built?
With us it is usually four to eight weeks from the briefing. The timing depends mostly on how quickly copy and images are available and on the number of pages and languages. Gathering what already exists early on saves the most time.
What does a website cost?
A serious figure is only possible once the scope is clear. The price depends mainly on the number of pages, the copy, the languages and features such as a shop or booking. Check in the quote what is included and which ongoing costs are added for hosting, maintenance and security updates. Also ask who owns the domain and the content in the end.
WordPress or custom-built: which fits?
WordPress fits if you want to maintain a lot yourself and are looking for a widely used system. A custom-built solution pays off when loading time and features of your own come first. 4YOU CUBE, for example, deliberately does without a shop system and has a custom-built website with its own back office, subscriptions and reseller portal. Have the differences explained before you decide.
Will my new website be found on Google?
The foundation belongs in every project: fast loading, clear headings, metadata, structured data and registration in Google Search Console. That way Google understands your page. For top positions on competitive terms you add SEO and Google Ads or a well-kept Google Business Profile.
If you are replacing an existing website, the move is the most delicate step. The article Relaunch without a crash explains how to do it without losses.
Who writes the copy and where do the images come from?
Copy holds up many projects the longest. So settle early on whether you write it yourself or the agency does. The essentials are in the article Website copy that gets found. Your own photos of the team, the business and projects are almost always more credible than stock images.
Why a web agency from the region?
Today a website can also be built remotely. Being close still helps if you want to meet your contact in person or if a logo, print products or signage are also on the list. Our office is at Gibelinstrasse 25 in Solothurn, and the first meeting takes place at your premises, at ours or by video. We work for companies in the region and across Switzerland.
Examples from our projects
- Chirurgie Team Grenchen: patients find services, the medical team and the way to an appointment at a glance.
- Späti Innenausbau AG: a new website that works on every device, with basic SEO optimisation.
- Leisi AG: rebranding and a new website with a focus on SEO.
- Flury Décolletage AG: rebranding, website and signage from one source.
